Sorry to temporarily hijack this thread, but I'm just beginning to experiment with guitar plugins (Amplitube, Trash, Simuanalog, etc.) after using outboard direct recording solutions for a couple of years. I'm wondering - what is the best way to get your guitar sound into the sound card (in my case a Delta 66)? Do you all use a direct box (Behringer Ultra-G, for example), or a clean outboard preamp (Tonelab, Tech 21 stuff, etc.), or do you just plug STRAIGHT IN to the sound card?
