If Good Charlote has ever written one, that would probably be one of the worst solos.

I wouldn't say that it was the worst, but I hear hendrix play a solo on a live album (can't remember which song) that just did not sound right at all and really didn't fit with the music well. It basically sounded like random notes being played, which is probably all it really was. But either way, it wasn't very pleasing to the ears

Umm... the one Robin Finck in Guns n Roses played during the live performance of November Rain at Rock in Rio 3!! It was totally out of key and it finished on an inappropriate note, I think you guys would say theres no 'cadence' or sumin!!

I went to a concert of local bands at our towns skating rink. This one "punk rock" band had such a bad solo I almost cried when I heard it. It was basically just a scale... I don't even know. It was horrible though, but when I said so no one really understood. Dang non-instrument player friends.

some of the worst solos ive ever heard were by some of the people here who posted solos in the tricks area...Im sorry but they have horrible tone and technique..I will give them alot of credit tho for trying and posting it online (takes alot of ballz to post somthing online, well least to me)..plus getting a good tone can be expensive so ill give them more credit for trying with whatever they have to start with
I would have to say any solo i tried for the first year had to be the worst

I've been to a few high school level jazz festivals..

The guitar work of high school jazz players is almost always terrible (I'm sorry to say). If I recall the song was St. Thomas, and the guy was trying to play pentatonics over it. But not even tasteful... he had brought in some little digital effects unit, and was totally destroying the house amp..

It was bad.

The worst solo? I don't know but there are too much bad solos...Let's start with K.Cobain ones ...I really don't know how we could qualified him as a guitarist... But there are many others...Too much overrated people whereas a lot of very good guitarists are unknown...I think this is just music business and marketing strategies...

They didn't understand that it was a scale? Or they didn't understand that it sucked?

Canned heat at woodstock. Can't remember the name of the song (the one where some guy comes onto stage and takes one of the singers fags), After a decent performance one of the guitarists plays one of the most bland pointless solos i've ever heard. Could you imagine playing to one of the biggest audiences at one of the biggest events in rock history and playing a solo that would make the average beginner blush?

I' m really surprised because canned heat is a great blues rock band...Maybe you're right but they were probably not in a good day. Maybe the guitarist was drunk or took some grass...lol

Don't think he was the lead guitarist. The other guitarist played a better solo afterwards. Still think he must have been kicking himself afterwards.
