Does anyone know how to tie a broken guitar string together? I have seen it done but can't remember how. In all honesty I don't know if anyone will be capable of explaining how to do it with words anyway. But someone has got to be up to the challenge. Gracias.

Lack of sleep and my boyscout experience tells me that the best way to go about this is to find a website demonstrating how it's done.

I've got a knot in my head that would be possible.

I do that all the time, as long as the break is above the nut (obviously). I use the good old fashioned reef knot.

... and that's all I have to say about that.

How often is "all the time"? I've never broken a string above the nut... always around the middle of the string.

That's the exact knot I had in mind.

That's one helluva reply. My god. anyway muchos gracias senor, I am living in Cairo, Egypt right now and obtaining guitar strings is not like it is in the US. Once again, terrific response. I laughed out loud.

And that's why I reign supreme over this forum.

By "all the time", I really meant "whenever my acoustic strings break above the nut". I only do that since I use Elixirs, which are super expensive. I don't usually break strings, though, so it don't really bother me none too much.

Oh, and my secret power is the mighty Google, which is apparently soon to be conquered by yahoo.
... and that's all I have to say about that.
