The thing is, to get a good Jackson, you have to spend alot of money. But when you get it, it an angel. Ibanez on the other hand is more ranged out making better guitars at lower prices >700$, but their high end models really good. But not as good as an SL-1 or something.

I own a Jackson DKMG. I like Jackson but hate the HZ pickups that are in most of their guitars. So I put a ZAKK WYLDE EMG set in mine. It's the 81\85 set. I also put a tremsetter on it and I think it's a damn sweet guitar. I also recently purchased a Schecter C-1 Blackjack. I think they too make a fine guitar. My Schecter is SWEEEEEET! My very first guitar was an Ibanez GAX70. For me, the guitar was neck heavy, the string spacing was tight but other than that it had a good tone. It's all personal preferance really.
I am a constant evolving music machine. Oh Man, I just forgot what I was playing. Oh well, on to the next song.

My vote goes to Ibanez. My teacher has an original S series model, and it rocks!

If at first you don't succeed, you are obviously not Chuck Norris.

Aside from the chintzy starter pak model I had... I never went with an Ibanez bass unless it was a signature edition. I'm not saying I wouldn't have... but the Ibanez I have is a signature edition (Gary Willis).

My friend with the several-grand PRS (just the latest of his 12 or so pieces) who's a fancy-pants Hollywood studio pro guitarist told me that Ibanez is fine if it's got somebody's name on the headstock... otherwise, he says, the electronics suck and need upgrading, particularly the pickups (if they're the house brand).
