Dumb question from a beginner...

Okay guy...Les Paul, is the "s" pronounced so it sounds like "less" paul, or is it silent as it would be in french. I thought that it was silent and then I said ley paul to my friend and he corrected me. Is he right? I don't wanna sound like an idiot twice :-) Thanks!!

i think its pronounced like a "z". I dont think I can do the phonetic spelling of it, but I'll try anyway: lehz pol (eh-> short "e" sound, au -> short o sound). Any othe suggestions out there?

It's pronounced LESS Paul; named after one of the still-living legends of electric guitar. Les Paul is alive and well and living in New York, playing jazz every week at a downtown club.
