Hey!
I am looking for extremly technical players, like ones you would find via "Shred Guitar webring"
I am NOT takling about players like Yngwie, Gilbert, Angelo, etc.
I am talking about players like Francesco Fareri, Rusty Cooley...
So, if you know a player like that, post a link
Thank you!

This guy is cool. It might be what your looking for !
By virtue of their electrical properties, tubes generate a special waveform when they're saturated, which is why tube engineering has tremendous tonal advantages over solid state or DSP solutions, particularly for crunch and lead sounds. Tubes enter the saturation zone gradually or softly, which lends tube-driven tone its trademark yet totally unique character.

I find your post quite funny because even if Rusty Cooley and Francesco Fareri are 'extremely technical players', there is no way that you can seriously tell me that Yngwie or Michael Angelo aren't either. They are all extremely technical players in their own right.

English is not my native language, and it's very bad, so excuse me...:)

Anyway, I agree with you finger_chruncher... I just didn't explain it right... You see, I am not looking for "old-school" type players like Yngwie, Angelo, Giblert, etc. I am looking for players, who use multifinger tapping, 4 note-per-string patterns, and stuff like that... And who are not famous...

So basically you're looking for the younger crowd?

People in their 20s and 30s, and opposed to 30s and 40s (and even 50s now!).

You might also check out Chris Brooks. He did the music for one of Mark Boals' albums, and has an awesome instrumental album out called The Master Plan.

Theodore Ziras is another AMAZING player.

Also:
Borislav Mitic
Mattias Eklundh

Yeah, you got it right;)
Ziras is awesome. So is Mitic!
Ekhlund and Brooks are new to me. I sure will check them out!

Dannyjoe is a good friend of mine, he's one helluva player. He's got an amazing technique, but he's also got a cool bluesy vibe in his playing.

I prefer Malmsteem to Angelo. I don't think there's a clear difference between their level of technicality. As has been mooted before Angelo only does the two-handed thing to show off, not on recorded music. At "normal" playing they're at similar levels.
As for not regarding Yngwie as technical, well, I always suspect that players who make that claim are merely trying to agrandise their own playing by downplaying the talent of a very skilled player. Yngwie IS very technical and I've never heard a player with such a great vibrato.
All the same I would regard Shaun Baxter and Allan Holdsworth as arguably even more techically stunning players. Both are fusion player, Holdsworth much the jazzier of the two.
The title of Mr Technical should probably go to the jazz guitarist Stanley Jordan who plays very sophisticated multi-part pieces.
If I couldn't laugh at myself how could I laugh at someone less ridiculous?

OK, I read your thing about tube amps. Maybe true but my GK is transistorised and it's the voice of God in a deceptively small black box. The clean chorus sound is phenomenal but it's maybe not got the crunch I'd like it to have.

Thats why tube amps are better :D

If you're sticking to just metal and neo classical metal then you're only going to find variations on the same old stunts.

If you want to explore jazz, classical, and avant rock players with unusal techniques then check out people like

Dan Stearns
Ken Rubenstein
Shawn Lane
Henry Kaiser
Vernon Reid

etc.

you can find links for all of them on my page:

http://kronosonic.com

Many of them are doing microtonal and fretless but none of them are doing metal -- so it wouldn't be for everybody I suppose.

Vernon REid is a totally SICK player, I've got some Living Colour Albums and that guy is a brilliant guitarist.

Reid's solo stuff is even better in my opinion. Amazing stuff. He was a real inspiration to me in the late 80s and early 90s.
