Hey guys,

I've been thinking about getting myself a DigiTech Whammy pedal, but im not sure how practical it is in a gig situation. I haven't seen any other company that makes a Whammy pedal, so I guess it would have to be the DigiTech one. Has anyone bought/used one of these? What were your impressions?

Thanks,

- J

Well, I have an old Digitech RP-6 that has the whammy function on it...and I never use it.

For one thing, once you press it down, you can never get the sound you had before that. Like it sounds out of tune. So....in my experience I don't use it, and unless you're trying to do some Dimebag Darryl pinch harmonic screams, they're quite useless. Just get a guitar with a Floyd Rose.. :D

:) Already got a floyd rose of course .

I think i'd best leave the Whammy till i've tried one out. Guitar needs re-wiring and a new floyd rose putting in anyway. Damn thread on my licensed one has gone :(

Anyone here from the UK know anywhere decent to get an original floyd rose?

After I've spent a hundred or so on that I can finally replace my neck pickup with an evolution :)

Im totally the opposite to Pantelica I have one on a GNX2 and love it, where as I hate FRs ! Just fool around with it and see if you can make some interesting noises !

They are great for destroying the top ends on other peoples PAs as well !

LOL

I haven't got a change to play with anything that new, and I want a GNX3, but my RP-6 one just sounds bad. I can get some interesting sounds out of it, but would never be able to use it because it won't go back to normal.

Floyd's rule, I promise.

And Jamie, check out Ebay.

Naa, It is just a personal thing, I have had guitars with FRs and subsequently sold them. They are such a pain in the ass to tune and re-stinging is a nightmare.

Give me a PRS trem any day !
