I'm being hypocritical of another thread that I just posted in, but I need to know what you guys suggest for the fingering of 'Eugenes Trick Bag' when it starts up in the arpeggios, specifically the first one in Am.

Two ways to play it and here are the fingerings (1 = index, 2 = middle etc, in brackets) that they could go in:

|--------------------------------------------------------------------8(1)-12(4)
|--------------------------------------------------------10(4)
|----------------------------------------------9(3)--
|----------------------------7(1)-10(4)
|-----------------7(1)-
|-5(1)-8(4)

OR...

|--------------------------------------------------------------------8(1)-12(4)
|-------------------------------------------------------10(3)
|----------------------------------------------9(2)
|------------------------7(1)--10(3)
|---------------7(1)
|-5(1)-8(3)

and back down.

I know this is kind of basic but I'm catching up on my sweeping technique (yea and I know these are all picked seperate and blah blah) but I need to know which one is more benificial in the long run. I think it's probably the first for proper technique, but the second would be so much easier because my pinky sucks.

I would play it using the first fingering technique. It's probably the "proper" way to play it, but I would play it just because I have a short span to my fingers so it would be easier to play it that way.
I say stick to what feels comfortable to you. If it's not comfortable then you will end up with more problems then you need.
Jimmie showed me alot of stuff, but there was a time when he warned, 'If you ask me to show you anything again, I'll kick your ass.' Well, I did and he did. - SRV
