Paco de Lucia was also a child prodigy, winning flamenco guitar competitions at age 12, touring the world with a dance troup, and releasing his 1st album by age 15.
As far as Flamenco players not having the same finess as classical guitarists, a lot of that has to do w/the instrument and the technique involved. Flamenco guitars are made with a spruce top for a more Bitier sound. Plus, flamenco players will usually pick closer to the bridge and use a capo, again too achieve this crisp sound. Truth is, classical players are usually in awe of flamenco players right hand technique.
