Ewww, horrible sounding strings...
Well, I finally got around to changing my strings today. I thought I would use "light" gauge ones this time around, and was I ever disappointed. I knew they would sound a bit tinny, but not this bad! It sounds like I'm playing a tin can, oh the humanity! Guess I'm going to have to change them again to mediums. Seems like quite a waste of money because I snapped the first B2 string when I was tuning it up and it hit me in the face, so I had to borrow from another set.

wow thankyou! i never realised light gauge strings would make my guitar sound tinnier! i also went down to lights an it screwed my tone slightly i can only stand the sound of my guitar when its on clean when i got it set on the neck pickup otherwise it sounds so very tinny. cheers! haha im a dumbass. awww bugger i bought a few sets at once tho, it was cheaper that way. Balls.

We talking accoustic or electric? I've never used anything other than lights for electric. I've never bothered to try a heavier size. I don't pull the bends too much any more but back when I did I didn't think it'd be practical to have heavier strings than lights for fear of stressing the old ring finger.
