did u play guitar in your school jazz band? see, the jazz band in my school is so old fashioned- they dont allow guitars- only bass guitars- and thats if you're lucky because sometimes, they just use a piano!!! Never made a difference anyways even if there was a second instrument in the room- somehow, the main instrument was always the piano. I have nothing against piano- I actually love the sound of it and wish I could play it as good as I play the guitar- but playing jazz songs with just piano is just boring- especially if the piano is old and barely functional to begin with. Its also a shame to always use a piano on a jazz song that uses a guitar as the main instrument- its just plain blasphemy. The good ol fashion warm guitar jazz chords and improv solos just dont sound the same in piano.
