This is my metal cover of the popular rap song Be Faithful.

It starts off with a 10 second sample of the original then cuts to my version. I spent only an hour recording, mixing and producing it so it could be better than it is. As a result of little time, the drums aren't nearly as good as they could be and some riffs aren't recorded well either. I also didn't include vocals.

I've got a sh*tty synth part, which I'll replace with an accoustic interlude and eventually clean up the riffs but I think I've done a reasonable job seeing that it's all based on 4 notes from the original.

I'd like some opinions and thoughts about it.

Thanks.

I had to make the drum beats my self. I'm not a drummer, so I wasn't sure about what was best and ended up over using double bass drum and at 270bpm, it can sound similar to machine gun fire.

I only gave myself about half an hour to make it up and less to record it, so I hadn't really got the riffs perfect. Apart from that, which I can fix given the time, does it have potential?

hey im just jokin around! the double bass drum is a bit over used. im not really into metal but i guess there is potential there, if you got with a band you could def do somethin with it. the out of time bits were probly due to the double bass drum cos i know that would sure as hell throw me!
as to lord of chaos comment i agree that i sure as hell wouldn't recognise the song from the original but ya know im just guessin but i think you may just have been trying to subtly change it from the original. hahah

Yeah. The only thing it actually has in common with the original is that the riffs are based on the same notes but it still can't really be recognised as a cover.

The main reason for the song is when I put it on the stereo in my form room, all the people who are into top 10 stuff would turn it up then BAM, it's gone from a popular rap song to a metal song, which is twice as loud.

Jimmi, if you find that would be hard to play to, listen to some Meshuggah songs. The guitars and bass play in abstract time signatures like 23:16 while the drums are 4:4. I don't know how they do it.

I used Fruity Loops to make the drums and put it all together. I guess I shouldn't call it a cover and say it's my interpretation of what it should of sounded like.
