Do any of you know of a pickup that could make a solid body mahogany elec have similar tonal qualities as a classical acoustic?

I'm not expecting anyone to acually know of one, but it would be awesome.

What do you all think is the most transparant, natural sounding, and generally pure pickup on the market?

I suppose a non-bright humbucker would kinda do the same thing. Thick strings maybe. I think that everything that would make the sound dull and less bright would do the trick.

If you listen to sound clips on the net, its hard to make a judgement because so many factors affect the sound.

I know, not much help.

I don't get how those would be installed, but that does look appealing. I don't like batteries too much, but I don't suppose anyone would do one of those sieko watch power things with a guitar.

Would that drain the battery all the time or just when active?

Does anyone know how much it would cost to get pickups custom made?

That particular design was meant to replace the individual saddles of a Strat-type bridge. There are other styles, including 'thinline' types which install under the one-piece saddle of an acoustic bridge. Fishman makes very good ones.

The original guitar jack is replaced with one that has a built-in switch. The preamp is only drawing power when a cord is plugged into the jack.
