White Room sound
Hello! This is my first post here. I have been playing for a few years now and just recently got my dream (well almost dream) guitar. A Squire Tele!! Anyway, I'm a big fan of Clapton (who is'nt) and have tried to at least get the frets right when playing some of his songs. One problem that I have been working on is how to get that "funk" type sound that Clapton has in White Room. Is there somthing that I need to do with my guitar? Or do I need a big fancy amp to do all that? Thanks!

Welcome, I also have a Tele and have come to beleive it is my dream guitar. I don't care for Clapton all that much. Your going to have to specify what and where this sound that your looking for is.

For one thing, Clapton was playing Gibson SG's at the time, through Marshall amps. Unless your Tele has a humbucker pickup, you will have some real trouble approximating his tone. You will also need a good wah pedal, since that was a big part of the solo, and may also have been used to shape his sound on the fills during the verses.
