Problem with Ibanez floating rose floyd tremolo
I have an ibanez, RG series with a floating rose floyd tremolo. Everytime I do a divebomb, the D-string goes out of tune. The other strings are still ok. Can anybody tell me how to solve the problem?

check the nuts to see if they are tight enough.Check the D strings saddle for any severe movement. Also check the fine tuner/s.Have it set up(or do it youself)with a fresh set of strings.
Try once,fail twice...

Is the floyd rose set up with the drop D? If it was set up with an E then you won't be able to drop the tuning and have it stay in tune. Only problem with having a floyd rose... you have to set it up everytime you want to change tuning.

I've had several Ibanez's. Love them except the Floyd Rose "LICENSED" tail pieces. The Floyd Rose site dis's these "licensed" versions as not truely being up to the standards of Floyd Rose. The most common problem being the quality of steel used in the knife edge where tailpiece makes contact with the posts.
The only way I've found to fix these is with Hip Shot's Trem Setter. It works really well. My JS100 was pretty much useless until I put one in it.

Is the piece a double locking or a string thru unit. You can also check your saddle for pitting that might make the string catch and go out of tune. Same holds true for the nut.
So. If you throw a cat out of a car window, is it considered "kitty litter"?

I have a problem like that with an RG 250 DX I have. Its like mikejcurtis said, the problem is with the material the bridge is made of. The bridge just doesn't move as smoothly as it should against the post thingies, and the trem doesn't come back to rest exactly where it started out from.
I was gonna change it to a better model trem, like an Edge or something, (currently its an Edge Pro II) but I figure I'll just buy a better guitar with a better trem
someday.
Anywhoo, for now, finesse is how I deal with it. If you find the bridge isn't comming back to where it should be, use your ears and playing ability to correct it. Oh yeah, thats also kinda tricky. ;) Maybe I'll look at this trem setter thing.....
