So I bought a soundcard (audigy 1 platinum ex) and unfortunately the box was thrown out with the driver cd in it. As you know, drivers are commonly free - found on the internet - and with Creative the majority of them are. Except for this one exact soundcard. Trust me, it's not out there. After an exhustive search, all you're going to find are updates which won't work without the initial drivers. I've got one kind of working right now that sounds as if it's a mediaplayer radio stream at -4000 bits. If you want to prove me wrong, use the above soundcard name and the SB0110 product number.
So I called up Creative (of course, they don't have a toll free number). They acknowledged that the drivers aren't available and then told me it'd cost me 10 bucks to get the driver cd replaced. 10 buck is 10 bucks but jesus! I was told I could put in a burn-request which typically takes 7 business days (a burn of the cd) and in which is free but it's been 2 weeks and now today i've got to hike up my phone bill again to ask them what the **** is going on.
I just want to listen to quality music and put down simple tracks on my comp so I don't forget them. Christ.
