i just read some stuff about "The Great Cat" and read an interview about her...I hear alot of people say that Malmsteen has an ego (which is true) "The Great Cat" has to have the biggest ego out of every musician...She "thinks" shes beethoven reincarnated and refers to herself in a 3rd person view..She not even that good either (shes good at violin)
Is it just me or does anyone else think "the great cat" has the LARGEST ego...lol????

To me the Great Kat would probably make a better wrestler with that ego than a musician... or at least make more money since I think her last album sold 3.... her mom and dad bought one each, and she bought one herself...
So. If you throw a cat out of a car window, is it considered "kitty litter"?

Actually he started going deaf in his late 20's. He had lost enough of his hearing by 30 that he could no longer preform. By the time he wrote his 3rd symphony he had to press his ear to the piano to write it. Ok, enough of the Beethoven history B.S.. But if she was literally Beethoven reincarnated than she could literally run every great virtouso out of town improvising since that's how Beethoven first got his reputation in Vienna. It takes quite an ego to say your Beethoven reincarnated, since Beethoven was the greatest musician to ever live.

BTW didn't someone meantion this chick before and we all got a laugh. Oh well no harm in another.

I´ve just seen very few yngwie Interviews(maybe 2 or something) and there he didn´t pose that much and he also didn´t have such an Ego, but everybody claims that he has. So what statements did he made that he acquired such a bad reputation??

Well...
I've never heard the great kat.... but...
I doubt she could've had a bigger ego than Beethoven himself. I mean this guy would turn down chances to play for royalty just cuz he thought they were not worthy! He considered himself on God's level because of his musical ability! (and by the way - most of Beethoven's health problems came from spas and sanas they had back then. Although the water at those places was claimed to soothe you, studies show that it actually contained lead in it! This lead seeped into Ludwig's body and caused him to die at such an early age, with the help of trauma from his father as a child)

I wouldn't say Beethoven had an huge ego, yeah his personality was difficult but he was not egotistical. He considered himself NEXT to god, not on god's level and he did this not to say he was more worthy than royalty. But that he was on the same level as royalty. Royalty at the time considered musicians as servants, Beethoven was the first to stand up to this and give a valid reason not to be. I don't think thats ego. Beethoven refused royalty if they made him feel less worthy than them. I would do the same and I am humble. Plus after Beethoven began losing his hearing, he was left feeling inferior. That definitely humbled him from middle age.

Hehehe....

At first, I just thought that you guys were perhaps being hard on her. So I checked her out for myself. Wow, she REALLY does SUCK. Not only is she extremely egocentric, but her music is ****, even if she was a great shredder (which she's not---not even CLOSE!). Yeah, when I listened to some tunes from her audio samples, I literally thought it was circus music. There's no amazing shredding solos and it sounds ridiculous...very comical. In fact, it's almost like an anti-tribute to the original composers (Bach, Beethoven). They must be rolling over in their graves hearing how she's masacred their music. Her playing is very average.

No it was around his 3rd symphony.... by the 9th he had to be turned around to see his audience applauding, because he couldn't hear the praise...

Yeah, most of his greatest works were wrote after he had lost almost all his hearing. Even when he wrote his first symphony when he was 30, his deafness was already pretty advanced. Actually at that time, he would sit down at a piano and play a C major chord with B in the bass. It would kill him cause he couldn't even hear the dissonace.

His deafness was caused by a deteriotation of a nerve in his ear.
