Info on Maya Elec guitars?

Ok my neighbor brought me his Maya electric guitar. Its def a Les Paul lawsuit but I was hoping to find some more info online and Im not getting anywhere. Played clean it is kinda high pitched more than nessesary on the high notes. Played with light reverb and light distortion..I get an ok blues sound...but..other than that..Im stumped. Does anyone else know what this may be good for or maybe have one to make some comparisons and pointers? (And dont say teh garbage..I cant tell him that ;) ) There is an El Maya on ebay right now if you want to know what it looks like. Ive got the same inlays, but parralel..not slanted. THANKS!! - Tara
