you are starting a band ok, u are the guitarest and you only need a bass player and a drummer, you dont want the music to focused only on you, and you write alot of songs and you are the singer in the band, so if you would go about the way you suggest, say u want to do these awsome songs that u have listened too, and also you want your band to be one of the better bands , anyways, you got these great covers AND originals to do, so you badly want to do these, but then your bass player comes up and wants to do these songs and your like,"man these songs arent what i want the band to be like and they arent me and they will make are band sound bad", because you know you can make the band rock but these songs will make your band less better and your bass player is like we are doing these songs, because hey no one there is to tell him sorry but lets try something else, instead everyone argues saying who do you say that we are gonna do this song, but in your heart you know that this song is not good and that the songs you have are great songs and will get people lieking your music. But how do you go about that situation, yeah you could say ok, then more crappy songs would come along with him, and more and more, and your band will become something that you really didnt want it to be, u know what im saying.
But i know that alot of you are gonna say " well i would have the band decide". i see this but the people in your band you can tell arent wanting stuff the same direction as you, and heck you are thinkin why cant i decide? i started the band, u want your band to go good and you know it can but you got 2 other people with different views and u know they are views that you really dont like. just put yourself in something position like that and just let me know what you would do, im interested into seeing what you have to say about this situation.
