I was looking at the BOSS TU-2...but it seems kinda overpriced. Are there any other Stompbox type tuners around, used or new don't matter.

I use a tu on the gig and it has not let me down in 4 years. If you could afford a rack unit that would save space on you pedalboard. It also looks cool.

I'm also looking at the older Tu-12H model, but its not a stompbox, but $50 cheaper.

I've been using my TU-12H since '89(?)... something like.

It works well, but it's not as convenient as a floor pedal, and the built-in microphone can be a problem if you're trying to tune in a noisy environment. Y'know, like in a bar at night?
