I love amptone.com and ya I've read all that stuff on EQ-ing. I only have one EQ right now, so I'm trying it as first thing after my guitar and last thing in the chain, staying out of the loop right now. I was considering the BOSS as my second EQ for some different sounds, but I guess they all pretty much sound the same. Maybe I'll just get another MXR, maybe look at the 10band.
