I have been palying for a while but still suck, I wanna get a amp and was thinking about the Yamaha DG 100 so I dont have to buy any effects but it seemed to be discontinued so I am not sure what to get. I only have a tiny Fender amp and no effects except the distortion button that comes with that amp, what is a good model amp??, and I never understood the concept of having a amp head ..what is that? does that mean that the head has the effects but you still need the bottom part to go with it or you can play just using the top part? If that is the way to go what would be a good combination?? I have a Ibanez JS1520...if I get a stack do I still need effects or the Head comes with them..what is a good effect pads, I was looking at Boss gt-6 or GNX3...I can only spent about $600 on the whole deal..I like Steve Vai, Satriani type of guitar playing...Thank you all for all the advices
