Yngtchie Blacksteen, it would be cool if you could try and get hold of some more of marcus paus. If you do please tell me !

By virtue of their electrical properties, tubes generate a special waveform when they're saturated, which is why tube engineering has tremendous tonal advantages over solid state or DSP solutions, particularly for crunch and lead sounds. Tubes enter the saturation zone gradually or softly, which lends tube-driven tone its trademark yet totally unique character.

In not too much of a particular order

1. Opeth
2. Cannibal Corpse
3. Cryptopsy
4. Samael
5. Goratory
6. In Flames
7. Dream Theater
8. Beethoven
9. Led Zeppelin
10. Pink Floyd

As far as the fastest guitarist goes, I'd say that cryptopsy's guitarists are pretty damn fast, though if we're bringing some classical guitarists into the fray I'd say that most are already beat.

this is probably the first time on this board that anyone apart from myself was mentioning GammaRay. haha - i realy dug that band, but tha last few releases are pretty weak in my opinnion. but albums like "heading for tomorrow" and "Land of the free" remain german metal history!.

I've heard of gammaray. I dont think i have heard any of there stuff though.

gammaray is the band from Helloweens ex-guitarrist/vocalist Kai Hansen, who left Helloween after the Keeper of the Seven keys Pt. 2 Album. Definitely worth a listen. Kai was the founder of helloween back in 1979

My musical diet changes as much as Christina Aguilera changes her hairstyles. A couple of weeks ago I was caning 'Is there love in space' to death and going through a general Satch phase. A week later I'd gone global-dance. This week I had to replace my copy of 'Angel Dust' so at the moment I'm going through another Faith No More phase. They're great for letting off steam when you're feeling a bit hacked off.
