Hey everyoneI am new to this Guitar thing and my wife bought me a Marshall G CDFX15 I believe is the correct numbers on it. I love the Gary Moore, Matt Thorpe blues sound and I was wondering if anyone could help with the settings on the amp to get me close to that sound. She also bought me a Yamaha Pacifica Guitar for starters which I have read for a beginning guitar it is pretty good. Better than the inexpensive Fenders.

Now if I could just my fingers to work I might get some sound!!!

Thanks for your help!

I usually set my HRD with treble at 8, bass at 6, and mid at 9. lots of reverb, presence high, smooth overdrive, and neck pickup on the guitar. Thats my fav setting for blues.

Thanks for your help. I will try that out. I also read an article once from a guy who had the same amp but bought a Jensen 25 watt 12" speaker and replaced the 15 watt. He said the sound difference was huge for only $39.00. Any thoughts on this?

Unless you know which 25 Watt Jensen, and what kind of "huge" difference it made, you're running blind.

Go to the WeberVST website and check out the customers' descriptions {Select Page > User Comments} of the results they got with particular models.

I can tell you from happy personal experience that these speakers deliver sound as described, and the quality is excellent. :)
