Hi my friends!!
I'm having problems with my Rocktron Chameleon(not a Chameleon 2000).
I'm using it as a effect loop, with a mesa boogie triaxis(tube preamp).
When I apply the effects loop, it doesn't sound very well, so I would like to see what do you recommmend me to do. Or if there's a way to disconnect the preamp of the chamaleon and use it just as a effects processor.
I want to use the cleans and dist of the triaxis and all the other effects from the chamaleon!!
Please let me know if you have any answer!!
Best regards

Marco!

How exactly do you have it set up as of now?

I'm using the rig this way:
guitar goes directly to the input of the mesa boogie triaxis preamp.
The rocktron chamaleon is connected to the effects loop of the triaxis(send & return). so the the guitar signal enters through the input of the triaxis, passes trough the chamaleon and gets out to the output jack.
There, the processed signal goes to the Mesa Bogiee Siml 2:90 power amp. Then it sounds in the 4x12cabinet.

Thanks!!

Hm, i dont know if the Chameleon is a pre-amp or fx-unit (or both?).

But i do know that it's NOT a good idea to put a pre-amp in an FX-loop. Big no no! hehe

I'm not sure either, but I think that it's both. With that in mind, try running it without sending it through the effects loop. Personally I think that messing with the effects loop is a pain in the but anyway. Try that and tell me if your still having problems.
