I have a Marshall Valvestate 2*65 watts 2x12" Goldtone speakers in it.

It has 3 channels though I use only 2.
I just wanted to know if anyone has experience with this:

When I turn up the volume I seem to be getting way more reverb than usual. When I play some music and suddenly stop playing I hear this woooooooooh of reverb losing its volume within 2 seconds. So when I stop playing I hear the reverb just a second or 2 after I stopped playing.

Is there anything I can do about it? I dont want to lose the thick sound the reverb gives, I just want it to stop when I stop playing. gets kind of annoying...

any1...???

Well reverb, by definition, continues after you stop playing, but only for a split second. Theres lots of settlings on the VS range, you can alter the reverb time so by turning is down it would shorten this period of woooh :)

A noise gate then, maybe that would work as it cuts out volumes below a specified threashold.

ERMMM CALL ME stupid and doo please correct me if im wrong..
but isnt the purpose of reverb to have the sound sort of go a bit more than youre playing..

otherwise if u have too much noise try lessining ur gain, and it depends on the acoustics of your room..i have a valstate marshall avt series..and its now in a small room...bad acoustics but when i lessen the gain theres that bit less background noise maybe u can adjust the level of reverb on your dfx section..im not sure if this is helping.
