My little brother has a G&L Legacy strat equipped with
Hot Rails in the bridge and Cool Rails in neck and middle positions. Hot Rails is really hot. Great pickup if you want to play metal and especially it's a great lead pickup.
He has a Line6 Flextone2 XL and he gets Vai solo sounds as well as Dave Gilmour ones. Personally I prefer the Cool Rails 'cause they're more smooth and my brother also thinks
the Hot Rails maybe too hot. It doesn't have the strat tone at all with it. I suggested that he should put the Cool Rails in the bridge and neck or middle position and put the original G&L single to neck or/and middle position.
