Anyone familiar with Melvin Taylor?

my english teacher burned me a CD with his 12 favorite guitarists on it and Melvin Taylor was his #1

he basically shreds the blues (not like Yngwie but real blues) and he almost always has the wah pedal on fully forward for the extremely trebly sound

any thoughts on him
