I am new to this stuff, I saw the JMP-1 in my Marshall Amp catalog, So I'm sitting here wondering just what the heck it is!

How does it work? What other equipment would I need to make it work?

Oh, and if someone could tell me what the EL34 100/100 Dual Monobloc Amplifier is, and also how it works, that would be great!

Thanks,...

the marshall jmp 1 is a "pre-amp." it's a component unit, meaning a part of a rack system. it's basically a unit that produces the clean and distorted sounds that you wish to use (like a distortion pedal, but way more complicated.) it does not amplify your sound, you need something called a power amp that you would plug the jmp 1 into, then you would also need speakers that the power amp would plug into. It's all complicated at first. I own a jmp-1 and am fairly new to the idea of rack gear, it's cool stuff expensive though.

(your guitar plugs into jmp-1, jmp1 plugs into amplifier, amplifier plugs into speakers)
