"Lets see… well I play the guitar and when I'm not playing the guitar, I think about playing the guitar. My other favorite instrument, is the guitar and if I aspired to play any other instrument, it would be the guitar...

I can’t sing so I sing through my guitar. So when the sound guy says: “Your guitar is too loud!” I think: "Why does he never say that to the vocalist?"

anything that says GNX3 is what you are looking for. You attempt to add the effect in the guitar yet?
So. If you throw a cat out of a car window, is it considered "kitty litter"?

... now, back to the original question

... let's say it's a multiple choice question

... and you can't back out off

... And your life depended on it

... and there's only two items

... the korg ax 1500g or the boss gt- 6

... which one is better?

... anyone?

Boss is more popular, I think. I've never used either but I have seen a decent number of endosements for the GT6.

When it comes to popularity, for sure, Boss is a more popular brand than Korg, but the fact that Satriani who uses it endorses the Korg ax 1500g (and I think even Vai started using it backstage)- and the fact that they endorse must have some effect on its popularity- so popularity wise, I don't really know which is which. But how about quality wise? Anyone tired the gt- 6? I have personally tried the korg ax 1500g but not the boss gt- 6. Does anyone know where I can download sound samples for the gt- 6?

Well, sh!t!, since you put it that way...

That's the kind of decision only you can make. Try 'em both out and pick one!

Then it doesn't make much difference which one you choose...

...because either way:

The one you do not choose will have features you wanted, but did not get. The one you choose will have faults you did not want, but chose to accomodate anyway.

No. I use an old Yamaha DG Stomp. But all multi-effects units are slightly different from each other. The way they organise the patches, the method of programming, the number of presets, the means of controlling patch selection, how many effects can run simultaneously. And all have things that sound better than others. So if you relly can't make up your mind, you should either resign youself to a certain mix of pleasure/disappointment and just grab one, or start collecting individual stompboxes that each do their job to suit your taste.

makes a lot of sense. thanks lordathestrings. i finally get the chance to try the gt 6 and they are slightly different at certain sounds. it was really hard choosing between. There are some effects where the gt- 6 sounds better than the ax 1500g- but the 1500 g isn't that very far behind. What I like most about the korg is that the distortions sound more cleaner than the gt- 6, i think. I especially loved using the messa boogie recto patch! In the end, after 3 hours in the store, making them music people crazy, i finally decided to stay with the ax 1500g (i had it ordered last dec 27th- if i found that the gt 6 was better, i would've changed my order) because it's more easy to use (i find it more user friendly than the gt- 6) and i feel that i am also getting quality effects (if not better than the gt- 6) for a bit cheaper price (Only $299 Canadian!). I was planning to sell my individual stomp boxes but thanks to you, i changed my mind. It's nice to have one of them stomp boxes if i ever found out an effect that i don't like in the korg.
