1:
Kenny Burrell - "Stolen Moments" : This is a compilation of two Kenny Burrell albums, "Moon and Sand" and "Tin Tin Deo". Burrell is an awesome jazz guitarist. If you're new to the jazz world and want some good jazz guitar, I suggest this as essential listening.
2:
McCoy Tyner - "Soliloquy" : For anyone that doesn't know, I play piano as well. This is a great solo piano by one of the best in jazz. Tyner uses a lot less dissonance than most jazzers, but he's great - not boring by any means.
3:
Special EFX - "Butterfly" : This is pretty good smooth jazz. Chieli Minucci has some nice chops and uses them very tastefully.
All 3 of these are great, but I wouldn't recommend the latter two to everyone. "Stolen Moments", however, should be in every guitarist's cd case.
"You must stab him in the heart with the Bone Saber of Zumacalis... well, you could stab him in the head or the lungs, too... and the saber, it probably doesn't have to be bone, just anything sharp lying around the house... you could poke him with a pillow and kill him."
