As in, a break in the song for more than one person to take a solo (much more interesting than just a guitar solo, keys, or whatever).

Three of my favorites are..
Dream Theater's "Blind Faith". Pretty good guitar solo, followed by a great piano solo, followed by a righteous organ solo, followed by a wicked (i was running out of adjectives) keyboard solo. Of course 3/4 of those were played by one guy, but it the difference in sound I like.

Every song from all of CABs albums. Especially live these guys are just great, they'll throw down the chords that the song is over, then they'll just go back and forth, back and forth for what seems like forever.

Ring Of Fires "Atlantis", definitely kicks ass can't think of much to say about it.

I always dug VanHalens solo sections becuase they always changed up the song for that particular section.....it was never like "solo over the verse and bring the vocals back in on the chorus" type deal like most rock songs, the rhythm part was always more thoughfully composed.

Makes me hate Toronto...

Not that I dislike the song, and they rhythm isn't all that bad. But whenever I've had to play it in a band (in front of people, not in practice), everything, we get about the first 5 notes together. Then after that..

Everyone is on a different time signature, song, bpm, etc... its pure chaos. Never works out. Although somehow we get to that harmonic minor run (the first part of it) ok, but then on the way back down we **** up again. Its so sad.

I always loved the Jazzy solo in lines in The Sand ( Drean Theater)..... it really breaks up the song really well.. and the solo kicks ass.

I also love the limelight ( Rush) solo. really wierd stuff in it.
