I thought it was a good idea to get rid of the old 1-10 ratings system for tricks. Too easily skewed by twits and people who didn't know what they where talking about. But lets face it- when you post a trick it's nice to get some feedback.
What about "Was this trick helpful to You?" and record the number of people who click yes. Kinda like what they have for the reviews on amazon. I'd be simplier than the old system and posters whould know when someone appreciated the time and effort that went into the trick. Very hard for the twits of the world to skew the results as the worst they could do is not click yes. Users would also get some idea if it's a good trick worth working on or not.
Just a thought....

Maybe not even a worthwhile to you selection click but a comment feedback option. Name of the Commenter and the Comment. I'd find that more useful.

daveasdf - kicka** riff man!
AndyP - you must be just starting out dave
daveasdf - yeah!

or

AndyP - decent use of chromatics to strenghten the pinky

maybe have them under the individual riff links and the riff writer's definition. but then you'd probably get a huge forum under each riff submission.
