There was talk one time that Steve Via made a couple of posts....can't be sure, it was before my time.
I remember about a year ago someone made a post and said they were playing bass with Lynyrd Skynyrd I believe.

the only one i know about is John Jaunese. his appearance was quite coincidental as we had a huge thread going talking about him.
To improve technique and of course trying to keep all as clean as possible. I know my own limits and speed limits and so on I never play anything I'm not capable of. That wouldn't make any sense. After three years of playing I tried to play everything as fast as possible and that sounded, I would say, like shit, and I didn't realize that if I'd play bit slower things than I was capable of playing then everything would sound much better.

What I'd like to see is a forum junkie on this site get a break and make it large - posting now and again telling us of his adventures. That thought mixed with Chopin's Nocturne in E flat opus 9 no. 2 is bringing tears to my eyes. lol. you'd think he'd just call it Mellow #8

I have often thought of this...maybe some of the guys I converse with are in bands I know or enjoy, perhaps even worship.I`d love to think someone like Randy Rhoades visits this site, but obviously Randy is out of the question.
Just imagine that Vai thing being true, especially if someone was asking how to create a sounds similar to one Vai made originally, geez it would rock to have Vai personally tell you how to play his songs...Wow...I hope that one is true.
Another thing, if you were a famous user of this site, would you let it out that you were who you were? I dunno, If I heard of one of my heros on this site I`d never leve them alone.

Punk Rocker Danny Blitz is registered as Karate_Elvis here on the site. He has the song "If Ozzy was my dad (that would rock)". He hasn't been on in a long time though...
So. If you throw a cat out of a car window, is it considered "kitty litter"?

I think it depends on how famous.
A lot of good guitarists (Frank Gambale and Rusty Cooley come to mind) answer their email almost every day. They just either have the spare time, or interest in doing so.
If you want to get in touch with some of these people you like... email is actually a pretty good way to go.

Actually, I'm pretty sure that the Vai thing was a hoax. I went through the trouble of posting as "Jimi_Hendrix" just to demonstrate how ridiculous it was that everyone was unquestioningly believing that Vai was on the site. A couple of bad jokes about being Jimi Hendrix later....
If you do a search, I think it was about 3 years ago, actually....

... and that's all I have to say about that.

Ya, but its kind of obvious the Jimi wouldn't be posting. At least the Vai thing COULD be true.

I sometimes go snooping around Vai and Satch's websites. There are message boards on there, and they rarely ever post. A few times a year maybe. I really doubt they'd come to an extra-curricular site like gt.com and post and not post on their own sites.
Blues is easy to play, but hard to feel.

Agreed, Lee.
I've read Vai's messageboard, and he's posted like 2 times.
Doubtful he would post here, but hey, it could happen.
