Just wanted to say what an excellent site this is! I'm 32 and just bought my first guitar about a week ago and I love it! I just wish I wouldn't have waited so damn long!

If you practice pleanty you will be good in no time. Main thing is to have fun. Also check out http://www.guitarwar.com
By virtue of their electrical properties, tubes generate a special waveform when they're saturated, which is why tube engineering has tremendous tonal advantages over solid state or DSP solutions, particularly for crunch and lead sounds. Tubes enter the saturation zone gradually or softly, which lends tube-driven tone its trademark yet totally unique character.

Welcome to the site. It's by far the best guitar community I've ever found. You'll find tons of stuff here to get you pointed in the right direction. Hope to see you on the message boards, and also check out the chat (that goes for all of you :))

It's never exactly caught on, but there's usually at least one person dwelling in the room. I'd say that there are about 5-7 who show up on a regular basis. Not good numbers when you consider how many of us are posters on this site. Normally I'm in there everyday, but currently I'm home from school on Christmas break. I'll be on more once I go back to school after Christmas.

I had a similar relationship with my guitar from age 16 when I bought my first one, until age 19 when I finally stuck with it. Now I'm 22 and I'm never gonna quit playing.

When I get to a certain level when I just don't seem to improve, no matter how much I try, and usually end up leaving "mistress" guitar on her stand casting the occasional hopeful glance at her in an effort to rekindle our relationship??
