Hmmm. Largest audience I've played in front of was 4000, but that was when we opened for Matt Good. We opened for him once in Coquitlam and again up at SFU university, with a crowd of about 2000. Our normal fanbase is about 300 people though. Truth is, after a while it really doesn't make a difference if you perform in front of 20 people or 1000 people. I'm happy all the same. :)

Just a quick note to fingercruncher... I absolutely agree with you on the novelty pick thing 100%, but the stylus pick is a very thick pick that is made in such a way as to promote good alternate picking technique. If you don't pick properly it stops you dead in your tracks... check it out for yourself at http://www.styluspick.com.

Oh thedirt, I sent you two in case you lose another one :)
So. If you throw a cat out of a car window, is it considered "kitty litter"?

Much appreciated, especially since alternate picking is what I've been working on heavily lately.

You beat me to telling her, Chris, I was just about to do the same thing. Anyhow, I'm learning Bach's Invention in Am, not too hard, so I should have it down in a couple days assuming I don't get lazy. I just finished learning Tocatta a few weeks ago, so I took a break after that, but now the break is over. It's a rock block of Bach over here...come to think of it, the last song I learned before Tocatta was Bach's Bouree in Em...I need to take a Bach break...

My band is better than yours...

speaking of bach..im learning his menuet..im not sure which one it is but its fast and is a pain the ass especailly for my right hand fingers..there not used to playing as fast as needed on a classical guitar..most of his songs are stedy paced but this one will be hard for me to learn..i just finished Chopin Opus 28 prelude or somthing like that..short and easy..whenever i go to my next lesson im going to record it on audio and post it on this site

I didn't know, but I still think it is a gay hippy song. No offense, I love the beatles.

I'm learning how to teach someone how to play an acoustic guitar. So, I'm basically going back to the basics, which I think is going to help me, because I want to learn everything about what I teach, so I can answere and explain any question the person might have (boy, talk about a run-on sentence). Would it be a good idea to get a good instructional and walk him through it, or just start from scratch?

For myself I'm working on improving my pinch harmonics and my accuracy. I really need to start getting into theory too, but don't know where to start. I would love to take lessons myself, but I don't know of anyone close enough to me that could professionally help me.

Cool! Do you have tabs for Midnight Express? I've been looking everywhere for it!
Is the 2112 in your title a reference tothe brilliant rush album of that title?

Personally I'm just working on my blues scales at the moment, it's part of my development I missed out somehow.
If I couldn't laugh at myself how could I laugh at someone less ridiculous?

Right now am I learning a friend of mine how to play guitar. We begun with "Judas Priest - Breaking the law" (guess you understant why =D ).

Personally I still try to play Dream Theaters songs:

Overture 1928 and Strange Deja Vu in one piece with no misstakes.. May not sound difficult, but one solo in Overture is truly a pain in the ass..

I also try some old Yngwie stuff from Rising Force and Oddysey.

Some sweep as well and some christmas songs.
6:00, perhaps.. Hrm..

PonyOne:

Sweeps. Seem to be one of the biggest pitfalls among many guitarists. Welp, the Jonezter is a sweep master. Ask him for advice. There are lots of tutorials all over the internet. Furthermore, I personally found sweeping much easier after I'd mastered 5 and 6 string sweeping. Then it's easier to move on to 2 or 3 string patterns. That's just my opinion though.
