i've decided to get a new amp, (since my current peavey has been shorting out on me!!!) but i dont know where to start on the search. I am looking for a very versatile amp. I like playing all kinds of rock, but I also want an amp that can get a warm jazz-like sound. I was looking at some Fender tweed amps, or even the Cybertwin. Any ideas or suggestions on amps?

Geez...If you can afford a cyber twin...they are great, I dunno what they go for there, but in South Africa they cost about R30000 without the footcontroller, thats about 5000usd.
I am pretty sure they are much cheaper there though.
I have tried one once and it kicks bum.
Geez, I wish i could afford one.

In Canada, they are about $1500, where I've seen them. Look for something tube, if you want a nice warm, cuddly(lol), sound.

I'm a bit of a fan of fender amps for their cleanliness, but if you like stuff a bit more gnarly you might look into something Mesa/Boogie. You should be able to find something you like between the two, it's not like either company is known for making crappy equipment.

Traynor is amazing and at a good value. It exactly what you want...check the reviews its a great amp. I think its modelled after the fender deville...its all tube. Its more of a vintage amp so its distortion is a bit fuzzy, but nothing a good pedal cant rememdy. It only about $850 canadian.
WWSD? What would stevie do?
