I'll take a Taylor over a Martin any day. Nothing against Martins, they're amazing guitars, I just prefer the way Taylors play and feel compaired to Martins. Unfortunately, they are way out of my current price range. I'm not sure that any guitar is worth paying $1,500 and more, but If I had the $$$ to blow, I'd sure get a Taylor.

I really like Taylors for how playable they are. I would be surprised if anyone didn't. But yeah, I'm a poor college student. It's going to be at least a half dozen years before I put down that kind of money.

Have you ever looked through Martin's current models? They have like a dozen guitars in the $8k range. That's kinda scary.

Martins are WAY WAY overpriced for what they are. Hell a Taylor Big Baby at $500, blows about any 8k Martin out of the water in my opinion.
So. If you throw a cat out of a car window, is it considered "kitty litter"?

On the other hand, if you were to pay that much for a guitar there would be so much cognative dissonance you wouldn't notice.

Well, a couple years ago, I was looking at a Taylor dreadnaught, and a very similiar Martin model. The Taylor was going for $1200, the Martin for $1300.

I couldn't hardly tell any difference, so the guy at the shop told me to close my eyes. He played both. And as I still couldn't hear a difference, I chose the Taylor.

Of course just last year I bought a Martin too...so whatever.

Just try them both see what you think.
