I used a felt polishing wheel to "grind" the strings at various speeds. Also, there is the motor noise as well as allowing the tool to rest on the guitar body and picking up the sound through the wood...etc. I also used it on the strings behind the nut for a totally different sound.
A lot of the ambient sound throughout the song is the dremel and there are little grinding sounds, motor rev sounds, and pings and whatnot all through it that are from the machine...so, you can get some subtle effects or really obvious sounds too.
