Hi guys,
Newbie here. I actually don't know much about guitars. I have a brother who is getting really big on playing his Ibanez RG270 electric guitar. He's been playing for about 1.5 years now. I want to get him a good full range amp for Christmas. I'm looking at a price range of $100-400. I could really use some recommendations. Thanks a lot guys.

What a nice brother/sister.

I wish my brother would buy me an amp for Christmas.

Like, Polera said, what kind of music does he play, where does he play, does he have a band?

Sometimes I hit notes only dogs can hear.

Plays a lot of punk (Blink182, etc) and old rock like Zepplin, Hendrix, etc. He plays in his room in his apartment, some friends' house, and I'm not sure if he ever plays outdoors. I doubt it now since it's cold up in NYC right now.

i'd put the Peavey Bandit on the list too. this one has good onboard distortion for the asking price. it's what i plug into in the stores when auditioning guitars...

Line 6 Spider II !!!!!!!!!!
So. If you throw a cat out of a car window, is it considered "kitty litter"?

Peavey Supreme with a 5150 4 times 12 cabinet or any Mesa/Boogie.
If I leave here tomorrow,
Will you still remember me?

For $100 - $400???

I suggest that you look into the Line6 products. There's a Flextone III combo on musiciansfriend.com for $200 I believe, that's a good deal.
