So what kind of music are you guys into? I personally love all kinds of metal and classical stuff too.

Im into cheesy 80s rock mainly! Fave bands are GnR, Aerosmith, Slashs Snakepit and Velvet Revolver!

I try to listen to more jazz and blues these days. Theres more to screaming and head banging I figured after few years. Few months ago I accidently heard George Benson stuff, it was impressive and a friend played some Gary Moore stuff. Jazz and blues are good getaway genres to fall back to from listening too much metal.

I'f it dosn't move me physically, mentally or spritually then its not worth my time...
How many here activley listen to the radio(opposed to throwing in your favorite cassete or cd)and how many songs are on the that you find have musical value?
I'd also like to announce that the other night I had the pleasure of jamming an old 80's american made jackson rr model with stock kahler tremolo!Best axe ive ever laid my hands on.
Would anyone know where to buy a kahler?Compared to a floyd, they are just glorious...why dont they come stock for lock-trems often anymore?

I hate most of the stuff they play on the radio now. NO mainstream bands these days seem to have much talent at all. Anytime I turn on the radio, I never find anything that catches my interest. I think we should show em what real music is!!
# 12
I think I should show you what real music industry is. If the music industry made talented people famous, you would be out trying to get the autographs of most of this site's hosts. However, the music industry is into making money. Since a good majority of America is made up of complete morons, the music industry releases complete moron music that's catchy, but utterly meaningless. I'd love to get out and show them what real music is, but do you think Good Charlotte would really be up to me taking them to see Mozart's "The Magic Flute?" Would Blink 182 be grovelling at my feet thanking me for taking them to the Led Zeppelin concert? Does Eminem raelly want to see Elton John live (no music awards jokes please)? No, and that's because they don't understand music. If they did, why would they write such shoddy lyrics and awful guitar riffs? But I will give Blink credit for the intro to Adam's Song. It's not complicated or moving, but at least it follows general rules for an intro, so I guess they're not complete idiots after all. Just incomplete idiots.

Not all Americans are complete idiots, maybe the majority, but not all. I say even if some bands don't have the best technical skills, and it pleases ones ear than why not listen to it? Even if it is a pile of junk.
I don't like the radio, because there are way too many commercials. Just like the music industry, the radio industry is trying to make money. America as a whole is I would say.

Them there corporate jezebelles are targeting an audience that are governed and influenced heavily by media, ie teenage girls and boys. Anything cool is image and anything talented is incomprehensible to those who just want to fit in. Our art is no more, the music industry will never gain respect again.

So sayeth the punk rocker.

I don't think main stream punk should exist. I mean punk is a feeling, and going main stream totally goes against the punk persona. Thats just what I think though.

I take offense to being called a punk rocker. Read my profile. I enjoy music that requires talent.
