I got my electric guitar a few months ago, and I've been having a lot of fun with it. Now though I'd like to start to learn some songs on it, besides the ones my guitar teacher is teaching me, and i'm not sure where to start.
If a few people could please list a few could basic electric guitar song to learn I'd appreciate it. I like all styles, and good use the variation in my playing anyway.

dont use a pick for this one. If you like it I'll give some more simple but classic licks.

I'm not a beginner. I've been playing acoustic for 2 years now (not inculding the years I didn't improve at all.) I can handle Hey Joe, and now I have to learn to play it proove you wrong. Sorry just a female, everyone is against me reaction. I still have to follow the reaction though, what can I say?

I was hardcore Hendrix my first 3 years. Hey Joe's decent for getting into the pentatonic and that E blues stuff. He had the worst hand form though and it's hard to play his tunes accurately without putting your left hand in the positions he did.

Yeah me and a friend had a discussion about that once. We both came to the conclusion that even if hendrix was alive today he wouldn't be the same guitarist this day as he was before. Simply because he did have bad form and probably would have pushed his joints into arthritis. Then again he may have used his teeth and feet to play.

Yeah 2 yrs, you should be able to play Hey joe without troubles. Purple haze is alittle easier, especially the intro which is something everyone should know. I always say play what you hear and like, whatever it is.
