I would definately have a closer look before you buy. Its one o those things that sound too good to be true. Also I would ask around see if anyone you knows bought second hand stuff from the shop.
As for what styles whatevers your bag baby. Blues, Rock, Jazz, Metal, Pop. I'd probably rule out classical perhaps.

ps. if it does turn out to be a studio just say no.
