i´m not sure if that has something to do with talent. maybe it has, but not exclusively. i remember a time when i was not able to solo over a given progression of chords. all i did was solo over anything. a song on the radio, tv or to some cd´s. even soloing over tunes i have never heard before. that was a good training and now, when i enter studio and it says "soo over this song" i listen to it once. then i listen to it a second time playing along with it and the third time is record time. the more practice i get with that the more likely it for me to do a first take improvised solo that meets all requirements
