Double Track leads and Multi-finger tapping help!

Hey all, I have two questions. Can someone post everything their is to know on double track leads!?! The 80's style double track leads frustrate the hell outta' me cuz' I was told that they are done using thirds and fifths as the second over-layed lead but that doesn't always sound right when I play it...are their different rules for different strings or notes? Also, can someone help me out with multi-finger tapping? I would like to learn how to multi-finger tap like Karl Logan of Man-O-War...Right now, I only can tap on 1 string but I would like to get more advanced and learn some good tapping scales invloving more string and some more advanced techniques that are relatively easy to learn.
