Hello all,

I recently purchased a Laney tube head and have coupled it with a Peavey cabinet. This is my first tube head and it has the usual Power switch and Standby switch.

However, I was never told the order in which I flip them when I turn the head on and off.

I found an old manual online that states that you want to have the standby switch turned on when you turn the power on b/c it will prolong the life of your tubes. What about turning off the head? Should I just flip them both off at the same time?

What exactly (and electronically) does the standby and power switch do?

I'm sorry if I sound like such a newbie, but it is because I'm more of a casual/hobbyist guitarist.

Thanks
