Any opinions on the line6 spider & or flextone amps? I'm in a cover band and need to get alot of different tones -- especially the current rock tones ie; staind,creed,live,3doors down--- that kinda stuff. Do these amps hold up well or is there another recommendation? thanx
Actually,Line 6 has just come out with the Spider II series of amps. You could get a 2x12 Spider II combo for around $500 or a head for around $400.Theres also a 2x10 and a 1x12 combo too I think.Line 6 stuff is reliable from what ive seen and for the price, you can't do much better. The flextones are a bit overpriced and arnt worth the extra money over the spider II's in my opinion. They look sick too.

I have been a true blue tube amp man for well over 20 years now, but I must say that I am very impressed with the sound of the Line 6 stuff. I think it is as close to a tube sound as you can get from something that doesn't have a single tube in it. Check out some of the sound samples on the Line 6 website. Those Spider II's are a big upgrade from the original Spider series, and the II's are less money than the original.
So. If you throw a cat out of a car window, is it considered "kitty litter"?
