I was using 9's for a long time since vibrato/bends were easier.Ive since moved to 10's and I find the tone to be much more 'solid' and sustain a bit better...everything just sounds sweeter.
A guy at my local music store suckerd me into buying a some "musicians planet" strings as they were only $3.00 a set.He said "I strung up the telecaster over there you were playing with them" and the tele I had been playing did feel great.Well I went home and started stringing up my axe.When I was stretching out the G string the ball end flew right off...then the B string did it too.Thats the last time I buy budget strings...beware of budget strings.
The price tag for Elixers is well worth it.
