Injury
Thought it might be interesting to see which of us have been through guitar related injury throughout our careers. Apparently, 60 percent of professional instrument players perform through some form of pain. Maybe not 60 percent, but some significant percentage. I forget, ha. Myself, I was hardcore Hendrix for the first three years of playing (left hand at almost a 90 degree angle to my arm, hand wrapped around the neck) which resulted in carpel tunnel and tendonitis. Anybody relate?

Well, I personally have never been injured, but those who listen to my playing usually kill themselves after realizing that sounds that horrible can be made.

lol @ Jolly
Usually I stop when burning comes to pain. I never was injured although working in front of computer all day and playing all night is starting to take it's toll.
I slowly feel pain in the wrist. I gotta watch that.
To tell you the truth I've found that I've gotten better in the past year by practicing 30 minutes a day and jamming about the same. Practicing more than 30 minutes for me is too much. I get tired and frustrated. So I jam and work on phrasing instead.
I got lightyears beynd my skills in the past year. You wouldn't believe. That and lessons from TheJonezter.

I'm still recovering from a sprain I got early this summer. I was pulling a window closed with my left hand, and it jammed suddenly. All of the fingers of my left hand were forced to straighten out, and it hurt clear up to my elbow. I couldn't play at all for almost two months, and even now my hand stiffens up after about an hour of playing.

Fairly bad frostbite on my left hand.
This was about 3 years ago. I'm only now regaining a lot of the strength, speed and dexterity I used to have. Only good thing that came out of it is I spent months just picking most everything (not enough strength to hammeron or pull off, tap, anything). I don't do it, but I can straight alternate pick everything if I feel like it.
