Hi,

I've been playing guitar now for nearly 2 years and I think the style that I want to get into is jazz. I've been looking at jazz guitar web sites and jazz guitars for a while but there's just one thing that I can't figure out:

If Jazz guitarists mainly use the neck pickup, then why do 99% of all jazz guitars have bridge pickups? I've tried to research this but I can't come up with an answer.

I'm sure it all comes down to sales. If a company put out the same hollowbody for the same price but 1 had 1 pick-up on it and the other 2, which one would you buy?

Wether they ever used it or not, the average Joe Shmoe would feel he was getting something "more".
